The Christmas Surprise
The Christmas Surprise
Every Christmas, my family has a tradition of exchanging gifts and decorating the house. But one year, my parents decided to surprise me with something really special. They told me to close my eyes and not to peek while they set up a “big surprise.” I was so curious I couldn’t sleep the night before. On Christmas morning, I woke up early and ran downstairs, my heart pounding with excitement. When I opened my eyes, I saw a big, shiny box wrapped in colorful paper. I eagerly tore off the paper and found a box of building blocks—something I wanted for months. I started building a tall tower, but I was so excited I knocked it over. My parents and siblings laughed, and I felt a little embarrassed because I wanted everything to be perfect. Then, my mom handed me a small envelope. Inside was a note saying, “Your biggest surprise is right in your heart.” I opened my gift and found a photo album filled with pictures of our family. I realized that the best part of Christmas wasn’t just the gifts, but spending time with loved ones. That day, I learned that surprises can be simple but meaningful, and the real treasure is being with the people you love.
